Thrilling Finish Highlights Latest Kangen Water Enagic San Diego County Open
The latest Enagic San Diego County Open took place from October 11-13 at Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake. This year’s sold out tournament featured a thrilling finish. Native Aussie Austin Bautista shot 69-63-64 and overtook Rico Hoey in the final round, finishing -17. As a result, he won a $10,000 first place prize and received an SD501 Platinum Kangen Water® machine.
Right after the tournament ended, Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake VP / COO Neil Finch and his team were already back renovating the golf course, aerating the greens and throwing seed to get the course ready for the 200 golfers who play on-site each day. “The fun part is seeing this many people come out and enjoy our facilities,” Finch said. “It’s a beautiful thing.”
Finch’s crew continues to refine Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake, improving conditions for golfers. Since last year’s tournament, they added new tees on holes 7, 11, 15, 16 and 17, stretching the par 71 course to 7,116 yards, making it “a legitimate championship golf course,” per Finch. They also expanded three fairway bunkers, doubling their size and making play more challenging.
Kangen Water Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake had an initial three-year contract with Southern California PGA to host the Enagic San Diego County Open, and due to the commitment they’ve demonstrated, recently secured another three-year contract to host the tournament in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake continues to gain credibility with golfers in the neighborhood and throughout the golf world. An improved experience also helped them get and keep the Farmers Insurance Open qualifier, which returns to the course January 17-19, 2023. Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake also welcomes an USGA U.S. amateur four-ball qualifying event September 13, 2023.
Continued upgrades have paid dividends for Independent Distributors and other golfers who visit Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake. “All the distributors throughout the world should be proud of the facilities here,” Finch says, “and they’re going to continue to get better.”
